Birds in Christchurch Park

First we checked to see if Mabel the Tawny Owl had returned to her usual hole in a her usual tree, she was there sleeping with one eye open, she has been in the park for several years now.

After saying hello to Mabel, we walked down to the Wilderness Pond, where three female Goosander's were present, it's getting a regular event for 2 years now, last year one shy female was present.

Also in the Wilderness Pond was a lovely pair of Mandarin Duck

(first three photo's were taken with my Canon 7D Mk I and a Canon 100-400mm Mk II lens)

These with Canon 1D Mk IV and Canon 500mm f/4 lens
